Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child

On Friday night Bethel's WMU got together, like they do every year, to put together shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.
These shoeboxes filled with small gifts, necessities, and covered in prayer will go to children all around the world. They will not only get these shoeboxes, but they'll get to hear about the best thing they could ever possibly hear about - and that is how much Jesus loves them!

Our WMU ladies getting the items ready to begin packing!

Our Children in Action group was invited to help out with this mission's project and they gladly accepted!

Here are some of the boxes that were put together! Our grand total was 56 shoeboxes!

We had a great time of fellowship putting these precious gifts together!
(If you'd like to learn more about this project please click on the Samaritan's Purse picture at the beginning of this post.)

Spoonbread Festival 2009

For Berea's Spoonbread Festival this year our church had a booth set up where we shared about the activities that our church takes part in and we made salvation bracelets to give away! We also handed out over 500 New Testament Bibles!!!

As we made the bracelets we were able to share the Gospel of Jesus! We were able to hand out over 600 bracelets.
Glory be to God!
Here is what the bead colors for the salvation bracelets represent:

BLACK---Sin
Romans 3: 23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

RED---Blood of Christ
Romans 5:8-9 "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us..."

BLUE---Baptism
Romans 6:4 "We were therefore buried with him through baptism..."

WHITE---Forgiveness
Psalm 32:1 "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered."

GREEN---Growing in God
2 Peter 3: 18 “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…”

GOLD---Heaven
Revelation 21:21 "...And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass."

Commission Service for Youth Mission Team

Acts 1:8
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Our youth group is heading to Mississippi next week for a mission trip. During our evening service we as a church were able to watch the skits and dramas that they are going to be performing while on their trip. It was a very special service as we worshiped a Savior and commissioned this group of youth to go and be a witness!

Bro. Hamp Valentine, our Director of Missions for TCBA, spoke at the beginning of the service.

Our choir sang, "Touch Through Me."
